Grandeur Peak!

Ally and I had a lovely day last Saturday. I had been feeling so bad that we didn't hike Grandeur Peak this summer. I finally realized that we could probably still do it...with this crazy weather we've been having. I woke Ally up about 9am Saturday, asked her if she wanted to hike Grandeur, she said yes...and we were off! About 4 hours later, we were tired, stiff, but felt a great sense of accomplishment! Every year, we forget how long that hike really is! I love looking at Grandeur from our front yard and thinking that I was on the top of that last week...Thanks Ally for putting up with me...and being the youngest child...somebody has to!!! xo

A Very Merry Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving break is finally here. I finished up classes today and Kelsey finishes up tomorrow and then it is off to St. George. So in order to celebrate this great time we decided to get our first Christmas Tree. So now it is officially time for the Holidays!

HOLY TOLEDO!!

Dad and I just got back from the Dockter's last night. We had such a great time. Eric, Lindsay, SAM and MAX are all sooooo sweet! It really was a life highlight for me! I never knew being a grandparent would be so much fun! Everything worked out just perfect for the arrival of Max Jensen Dockter! I arrived on Wednesday, November 5th. Lindsay was induced the next evening. Max was born at 11:42 pm...November 6, 2008! He is so HANDSOME!!! He actually looks a lot like Sam...so you know he is cute! The family is doing well...they are very happy and settled in Toledo....which made it easier for me to leave....you know me...!!! I can't wait to see them again!!!

Sign of the Times

As many of you are very aware we are now traversing through what many experts are calling a recession. For the well being of everyone I wish to extrapolate on just how pervasive this problem has become. In order to do this i wish to have you all recollect the events that transpired on the night of October 18th, 2008. This was the night the world held it's breath as Deron Williams writhed on the basketball court clutching his ankle in pain. As you can see none are safe from this economic meltdown. We must prepare and now wait 2-4 weeks as D-Will, as we endearingly call him, recovers from a second degree inversion sprain of his left ankle.

The Root of All Evil

In an effort prepare me for life outside of my basement apartment, mom and dad have been trying to teach me a few skills they feel will be beneficial to me later on. This includes financial literacy. A couple nights ago we talked about what I should be doing with my money. I didn't know there were other things to do except count it, buy what I want, and then let dad put the rest into some savings thing. CDs (which, despite popular belief, actually stands for Certificates of Deposit and not Compact Discs), Mutual Funds, Bonds, Stocks, 401Ks...Ah! I have actually shed tears over my inability to understand these concepts, even though Coach Dupaix is teaching me, too. Dad didn't really understand the grimness of the situation until he looked at my check book. My last record of anything (and okay, Mom wrote it in) was on July 17th. Oops. It's hard to remember to write things down when I only spend $2.25 at Thrift Town every once in a while.
So, our parents staged this intervention due to these reckless purchases I make and subsequently forget about. I am now a changed person. I haven't used my debit card or forgotten to write down a purchase in over four days. I'm getting there.

Happy Halloween!

Last night We decided to stay home to pass out candy. Good thing we did cause we got a total of 4 kids at our house, two who didn't even dress up! Oh well. We had a couple friends over to carve pumpkins and watched a movie. It was fun, even though Trevor wouldn't help me with the pumpkin! Eric, you might to have a talk to him about how much fun carving pumpkins really is!

I hope you guys all had a fun Halloween!! We missed seeing all of you. Did everyone dress up? I was wishing that I had the plastic bum and a hospital gown to wear last night...that's one of my favorite costumes ever. I love you!

Pumpkin Walk

Tonight Trev and I went to the Pumpkin walk. All sorts of families and groups make scenes out of painted pumpkins. The theme this year was heroes. We tried going last night but there was like a 20 minute line to even get in... family night! Tonight is was much less crowded so that made Trev happy! There were lots of cute pumpkins but I was disappointed there wasn't a High School Musical one! Oh well!

Bad Hair Day?

Hey...thanks for FINALLY letting me join the family blog...it really wasn't my fault!!! This will be SO fun! I didn't know you were all such great writers! I am getting excited to head to Toledo..could be soon...or not?! I can go at the drop of a hat!

I enjoyed St. George last weekend, too! You are all a lot of fun! Missed the Dockters though! How is the hair? I love ya! I sure could use another cupcake!!

A Grand Injustice...

After countless hours spent tinkering with my dashboard and reading page after page in the help guide I have come to the stark realization that the powers of administration have not been properly nor responsibly shared. I fear that I have joined a "Blogtatorship" in which only one individual, whom shall remain nameless, has hoarded those inalienable rights to choose a template or background color. I advocate all others to ally themselves with me until we too can relish the delight of creativity.

Thanks for starting a blog for us all Linds! Now maybe it'll force Trev and I to start taking pictures. St. George was so fun last weekend, I wish Linds, Eric and Sam could have been there! It was so warm and relaxing! Now back to school... at least the semester is more than half over. No more 94's this week for me, but thats good because that means no tests! Trevor has got a big one tomorrow, wish him luck! Love you all!
